Essential Items for an Unforgettable Trip

Take a moment to read through our packing tips to ensure you can make the most of your time at Kississing Lake Lodge. Your private air charter from Winnipeg to Kississing Lake Lodge with Wings over Kississing, limits each guest to 50 pounds of personal gear. Try to keep your rod length under six feet and group your rods into one or two rod tubes. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give one of our friendly trip coordinators a call.

To ensure your comfort, we suggest you wear layers of clothing while you are out on the lake, from cotton undershirts to long-sleeved thermals that you can take on and off with ease. Insulated clothing and regular fishing attire will suit you just fine, but you might consider bringing along rain gear too. We do have some extra rain jackets on hand in case you forget yours.

Personal Items

Consider your camera essential. You’ll be surrounded by incredible scenery and wildlife, not to mention all your trophy fish. Bring sunscreen and insect repellent, such as Muskol or Repel. Double-check that you’ve packed all your toiletries and medications. By mid June the water is already warm enough to jump in, so you may want to bring your swim suit along. And don’t forget your sunglasses!

Fishing Gear

Please remember provincial regulations require barbless hooks on tackle used in Manitoba. We have rods, reels and tackle for rent at the lodge, and a great selection of fishing lures, leaders and line for sale in our tackle shop. Our guides are happy to offer advice on gear that will entice the trophy fish you’re after!

Visit our Trophy Angling page for tackle tips.

“We plan to be back again next year, hopefully with a few more people! Thanks again to everyone who made our trip so enjoyable. I think next year will be my 11th trip to the lodge. We can't wait!”Don McRae & Sharon Maciej - Edina, Minnesota
